When you head to cinemas tomorrow to watch Thamma, make sure you reach a little early. The film’s pre-show promos will feature an exciting lineup, including a glimpse of Rashmika Mandanna’s upcoming project.
According to trade sources, the promo reel before Thamma will include the teaser of Ikkis, the announcement promo of Shakti Shalini, and a 1-minute 51-second musical promo titled Jab Talak from Cocktail 2.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) cleared the Cocktail 2 promo on October 16 with a U/A 16+ rating, allowing it to be screened ahead of Thamma. The timing, just before Diwali, makes it a major promotional opportunity.
Though Cocktail 2 is still months away from release, producers wanted to attach its first look with Thamma since the latter promises massive footfall across theatres. This cross-promotion is expected to grab the attention of festive moviegoers.
Interestingly, both films come from Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films. The studio produced the original Cocktail, starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty, and now returns with Cocktail 2, led by Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna.
Director Homi Adajania is once again at the helm, continuing his signature style that made the first Cocktail a hit. Fans are curious to see how he reimagines the franchise with a new cast and a fresh romantic setup.
Choosing Thamma as the launchpad for Cocktail 2 isn’t random. Both films feature Rashmika Mandanna, who has become a pan-Indian star and one of Maddock’s most bankable faces. Her growing popularity ensures attention from both North and South audiences.

Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Thamma releases on 21 October 2025 and is already among the most awaited titles of the festive season.
