Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap recently stole the light of an event by narrating his bizarre and strange incident about a random person showing up at his house to act in his film.

Speaking in a humorous tone, Anurag revealed how there was a time when his address used to be out there in the public domain.

Any ‘wannabe actor’ who came to Mumbai would somehow end up at his door, either requesting or demanding to be cast for a role.

Remembering one particular incident, the director said, “One day, I was unwell. A guy rang my doorbell. I opened the door and saw him crying. I asked him, ‘What happened? How did you come inside?’…

…He told me, ‘Sir, you don’t understand. I just lost my father. Then he said, ‘I want to audition for you’.”

The guy persisted despite Anurag making it very clear that he was not doing any auditions at the time.

He revealed that the guy then tried to appeal to his guilt, asking the director whether he had any empathy to reject a guy in such a situation.

Anurag replied, “But how can you use that to corner me? I don’t even know you!”

He revealed that after this incident he turned his house into a fortress, installing multiple cameras and removing the doorbell.

This incident re-emphasizes the basic civic manner of keeping out of the private lives of even public figures, a common-sense rule that is becoming more and more rare these days.




One should remember to respect others’ boundaries and treat them the same way they want to be treated.
