The combination of Venkatesh and Trivikram Srinivas was expected to create strong buzz from the beginning. However, Aadarsha Kutumbam AK47 failed to generate much excitement until its trailer arrived. The promotional material did little to raise expectations, but the trailer released recently finally changed the mood, drawing a largely positive response on social media.
Trivikram has also described AK47 as a dark crime comedy, a genre he is attempting for the first time. This has raised hopes that the film will offer something different from his previous films.
But there is one concern. Some viewers are disappointed by the amount of bloodshed shown in the trailer. After films like Toxic, The Paradise, and Ranabaali, many moviegoers seem tired of excessive violence on the big screen. They want a break from blood-soaked action and are looking for films that offer a more pleasant and enjoyable experience.
Many expected Venkatesh and Trivikram to bring back the colourful, feel-good atmosphere associated with family entertainers. Instead, the AK47 trailer suggests that even this combination is not entirely staying away from violence.
The film does not appear to go as brutal as The Paradise or Ranabaali in showing gruesome violence, but the concern remains. One viewer summed up this frustration by pointing out that even family entertainers now seem to be normalising characters covered in blood.
The real question is whether these violent scenes are limited to a few moments or play a major role throughout the film. The trailer alone cannot answer that.
AK47 has finally generated some positive buzz. Now, the film needs to deliver the fun, family-friendly entertainment audiences were hoping for.
