Salman Khan’s much-anticipated movie Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss, has officially opened its advance booking at the box office.
While expectations are high, the initial response to pre-sales suggests a relatively slower start compared to Salman Khan’s previous blockbusters.

However, with Eid just around the corner, fans remain optimistic about a surge in ticket sales closer to the release date.
According to reports, Sikandar has sold over 67,000 tickets for approximately 9,300 shows across India in Hindi.

As of Wednesday, the film had generated Rs. 1.93 crore from advance bookings, and after factoring in blocked seats, the opening figures stand at Rs. 6.22 crore.
However, for a megastar like Salman Khan, this collection is considered too low.

Looking at the numbers, it seems like Rashmika Mandanna’s golden run and luck may have run out.
She delivered three consecutive super hits- Animal, Pushpa 2, and Chhaava.
But based on the advance booking numbers for Sikandar, it feels like her fourth big project might not be as successful as she had hoped.
The only hope for Sikandar now is Salman’s stardom, which could still pull audiences to theatres.
The songs flopped, and even the teasers and trailers failed to generate significant buzz.
If Salman Khan’s star power isn’t enough to draw audiences, Rashmika’s golden streak might come to an end. In that case, many might blame Salman for breaking her successful run.
But whether that scenario plays out or not, we’ll only know after the film releases this weekend.
If Sikandar manages to gain momentum over the weekend, it could still emerge as a strong performer at the box office. The real test lies in its opening day occupancy and whether positive word-of-mouth can help salvage the film’s collections.
With Rashmika Mandanna being one of the most sought-after actresses in Indian cinema today, her association with Sikandar was expected to boost its reach. However, the lukewarm response so far raises concerns about whether her golden streak will continue.
Industry insiders believe that last-minute marketing efforts and Salman Khan’s fanbase could still turn things around for Sikandar advance booking numbers. With just a few days left for release, all eyes are on how the film performs at the box office.
