The ongoing delay of Lahore 1947, produced by Aamir Khan and starring Sunny Deol, has become a talking point in the industry.
While Aamir Khan’s reputation for perfectionism is well known, the repeated postponements are beginning to look less like creative diligence and more like a strategic move that could be undermining the film’s prospects, and Sunny Deol’s momentum.

After the massive success of Gadar 2, Sunny Deol was at the peak of his popularity, making the timing of Lahore 1947 crucial. Instead, the film has been caught in a cycle of reshoots and extended post-production, with no clear release date in sight.
Aamir Khan’s meticulous approach may ensure quality, but it also risks losing the public’s interest and the window of opportunity created by Deol’s comeback.

Speculation has grown that these delays might also be about avoiding a clash with Aamir’s own film, Sitaare Zameen Par. While there’s no concrete proof of deliberate sabotage, the lack of transparency and communication from Aamir Khan Productions doesn’t help dispel such doubts.
Other projects, too, have reportedly been affected by the shifting schedules, adding to the frustration within the industry. In the end, while artistic integrity is important, so is timing, especially in Bollywood, where audience attention is fickle and competition is fierce.
