The film claims to uncover a buried chapter of Bengal’s violent political history. Well, it has already started generating strong international buzz.

Now, the latest that we know is that the makers have announced a 10-day US premiere tour for The Bengal Files. It will start from July 19 in New Jersey and end with Houson on August 10.

Other cities in the list are Chicago, Atlanta, DC, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. It won’t be wrong to say that all of this will definitely lead to the film’s appeal.

The teaser starts with a provocative line which says, “If Kashmir hurt you, then Bengal will haunt you.” This bold message has drawn both praise and controversy. However, one particularly charged visual of Goddess Mahakali engulfed in flames triggered online debate. But the team defended it as part of a deeply researched narrative, not intended to provoke but to inform.

The criticism was expected, especially at a time when another artist, Tommy Genesis, was called out for disrespecting the Goddess in her latest music video, ‘True Blue.’

As for The Bengal Files, it will release theatrically on September 5, 2025. And of course, the critics also remain cautious about the cultural polarization that may come in too!
