The Vvaan is finally arriving in theatres this week, on September 25, 2026. Featuring Siddharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead roles, the movie is already in discussion before release for its unique concept that has been explored by TVF for the first time.
While the horror elements and the Chhath Puja sequences were expected to pull a lot of audiences to the theatres, the situation has now turned out to be the opposite. The advance booking has not been so good.
Notably, only 15,000 tickets have been sold in the national multiplex chains, including Cinepolis and PVRInox. It is expected to sell around 30,000 tickets, hinting at an opening of Rs. 7 crore for the film. The number is good, and a boost can be expected if the content is up to the mark.
One thing that has grabbed the headlines is the sale of tickets in the single screens in Bihar. The city is ahead of Delhi and Mumbai in terms of advance ticket sales, which is happening for the first time. Furthermore, good numbers are being reported at the Cinepolis screens in the city.
Trade experts noted that Bihar can easily contribute to a large portion of the ticket sales for any film. However, they said that it is due to the lack of screens that the city always stays behind. Netizens pointed out that since the movie is set against the background of Chhath Puja, it could have easily attracted the masses in Bihar since it is a big festival celebrated in their place every year.
However, a boost is being expected in Bihar too, if the masses get attracted to the film after the first day. In that case, an opening of Rs. 10 crore is also possible. But trade experts said that so much pressure cannot be put on one circuit since everything will depend on how the movie is going to perform outside Bihar.
The Vvaan has not generated much hype after the arrival of its trailer. Netizens still believe that it can emerge as a sleeper hit since the concept linked to the supernatural and gods is easily accepted by the audience in India.
Siddharth has been desperately looking for a hit for almost ten years. The Vvaan has to do a lot in the ongoing week since the upcoming one has a big obstacle in the form of Drishyam: The Conclusion. Let’s wait and see if The Vvaan will leave a positive impression as expected.
