Drishyam: The Conclusion is reported to take a big opening at the box office. The shows are running housefull, and the numbers are expected to take a big boost on the second and third day.
While the impact of Drishyam will stay in theatres and among the audience for a long time, an upcoming movie has now shifted its release date. Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan’s Udta Teer, which was supposed to arrive on October 9, 2026, has now moved to October 23, 2026.
The new release date announcement was revealed on a poster. Although the reasons were not revealed directly by the makers, a majority believes that it is due to the ongoing craze for Drishyam.
Notably, the trailer was released a few days ago for Udta Teer. While many said that it has the potential to work at the box office if the content is entertaining enough, trade experts stated that the movie has not built enough buzz before release, and now that the wave of Drishyam has started, people won’t pay attention to any other new Hindi releases.
Netizens praised the decision, saying that it was a smart move to shift it after three weeks, since the wave of Drishyam will end to some extent by then. On the other hand, it has raised a new concern. The reason is Ramayana, which is coming on November 4, 2026.
Udta Teer will get only a week to leave an impression since a majority of the screens are expected to be taken away by Ramayana, which is getting a grand release in India and worldwide. Some trade experts said that, considering the audience’s interest in today’s time to visit theatres, Udta Teer might face a tough phase at the box office.
A few people have now advised the makers to choose some other release date or bring it directly on OTT if they believe that the movie cannot recover its budget. But only time will tell if the makers will listen to the audience.
