As per a latest news, Varun Dhawan is in talks to play the lead role in Vivek Agnihotri’s next movie based on Operation Sindoor. This project is produced by Bhushan Kumar, who seems to be trying to replicate the success of Border 2.
The movie’s script is based on a book by Lt Gen K.J.S. ‘Tiny’ Dhillon called Operation Sindoor. This book tells the details of India’s secret strikes inside Pakistan. As of now, it is not known if the film will stick to the real facts or if it will add made up parts to make the story more dramatic for the audience.
If Varun takes this role then it will be clear that he is playing safe. Since he was already in Border 2, picking another patriotic film looks like he wants to avoid taking big risks. Before Border 2, Varun had given a string of flops and his only solo hit was Judwaa 2 in 2017. Even his movies with Dharma Productions failed to impress the viewers.
Many industry people feel that if one ignores big movies like Border 2, Varun is not really someone who can bring people to theaters anymore. He is desperate to score a hit like Ranveer by making a nationalist film. He also gets a lot of hate online for his chocolate boy image. People often troll him because they think he just copies the style of Govinda and Salman Khan instead of being himself.
This new project could be a big deal for Varun’s career. If Operation Sindoor works out, it might help him find his place in Bollywood again. For now, it seems he wants to change his comedy hero image and trying hard to be a serious actor.
