Welcome to the Jungle Survives Day 1…Real Test Ahead?

Welcome to the Jungle box office update

Welcome to the Jungle has finally released in theatres after a long wait. The film opened to a decent start despite low expectations from its trailer. It collected around Rs. 3.5 crores from paid previews, followed by approximately Rs. 15 crores on its first day.

The film has not been rejected by audiences so far. It has managed to attract family viewers and has also connected well with children. The absence of double-meaning dialogues has worked in its favour, helping it reach a wider audience.

Early estimates suggest that the second day collections may see a strong jump. The film is expected to earn around Rs. 18 to 20 crores. Sunday could further boost numbers as it is a holiday, allowing families to spend more time in theatres.

At present, the film is aiming for around Rs. 200 crores to be considered a hit. However, reaching that target may not be easy. Strong competition is expected in the coming week with new releases entering the market.

Alpha, the next film in the YRF Spy Universe, is scheduled for release after a gap of nearly ten months. While its promotional content has received an average response, trade experts believe strong word of mouth could still change its box office performance.

If Alpha performs well, Welcome to the Jungle may find it difficult to maintain momentum and reach the Rs. 200 crore mark. However, if Alpha underperforms, WTTJ could continue attracting audiences into its second week.

Following that, Dhamaal 4 is also set to release. It is another comedy film from a successful franchise, but its pre-release buzz appears low, similar to Alpha. This creates uncertainty about its box office impact.

From Monday onwards, Welcome to the Jungle will need to maintain double-digit collections to stay strong. Its performance will largely depend on theatre occupancy and audience response over the weekdays.

Audience behaviour remains unpredictable, making it difficult to draw firm conclusions at this stage. It remains to be seen whether WTTJ can sustain its run and outperform Alpha and Dhamaal 4 at the box office.
