
Almost three years after the failure of Liger, Ananya Panday’s father Chunky Panday opened up about the film, saying that his daughter was hesitating to be a part of it in the beginning. Chunky said that Ananya felt uncomfortable since she thought that she was too young for the role being offered.
Chunky disclosed that he had convinced Ananya to take up the film. Chunky even recalled telling his daughter that Liger was a big and commercial film because of which he felt that it was a perfect choice for Ananya.

Chunky said that he had never given any career advice to his daughter since he considers himself too old-school and that a film works only when it has some amazing dialogues and action sequences alongside good music.
Furthermore, he stated that he would not have refused to be a part of Call Me Bae, which featured Ananya in the lead.

While Ananya has not responded to her father’s comments so far, she had once blamed her father for telling her to do the film while she appeared for an interview on the YouTube channel of We Are Yuvaa.
Liger was one of the biggest disasters of 2022. Directed by Puri Jagannadh, it was supposed to lead to another collaboration with Vijay Deverakonda in a film titled Jana Gana Mana, which eventually ended up getting shelved due to the failure of Liger.

Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday have been struggling to deliver a hit after the COVID-19 pandemic. Considering the failure of big films in the last few months, it seems like the right time has come for both of them to choose good scripts.
