Vishek Chauhan, the owner of Roopbani Cinema in Purnea, Bihar, has captured the public’s attention, raising some impactful points comparing Gadar 2 with the upcoming Border 2 on his YouTube Channel.
Border was released in 1997, a time often termed as the ‘golden period’ for Sunny Deol. With an ensemble cast featuring Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, and Jacky Shroff, the film pulled off a fantastic business, managing an inflation-adjusted collection of Rs.356 Crores.

Although many big names in the Industry saw Gadar as an underdog to Aamir Khan’s ‘Lagaan’, it managed to shatter all the predictions, managing an inflation-adjusted collection of almost Rs. 486 Crores.
Although these figures make Gadar 2’s superiority extremely clear over Border 2, Vishek Chauhan strongly disagrees.

Calling out the shortcomings of Gadar 2, Vishek criticized it for not having lived up to its full potential, failing its predecessor’s legacy.
He further emphasized Gadar to be a film of the grassroots, while claiming Border to be one for the urban intellectuals.

He is of the view that Bhushan Kumar, seeing Gadar 2’s success, will go all out in Border 2’s production, leaving no stone unturned.
With most multiplexes and cinema businesses situated in urban areas, it will be no surprise if Border 2 surpasses Gadar 2 in footfalls and BO collection.
Though he definitely raises valid points, all his analysis can go down the drain if the makers fall short of reproducing the very essence of Border.
Whichever way the cards play out, the release of Border 2 will take many on a nostalgic trip back to the past.
