Monday evening director James Gunn took to the social media platform “X” and gave an important update regarding the much awaited release of “Creature Commandos.” This comes after many of the other big cinematic projects getting delayed due to the ongoing strikes .
Offering updates on the show, Gunn revelead that the show is on track to get released next year and any contradictory information is a falsity. Recently wildfires of the project getting delayed till at least 2025 had spread, which have now proved to be nothing but rumours. With 2023 marking the end of the DCEU, Gunn’s DC Universe is expected to be the Messiah for Detective Comics as their previous attempt of building a cinematic universe in the form of DCEU had been a long and ugly struggle with no commercial or even critical success being recieved. Under such circumstances a delay could’ve very well been a bad omen on its way to haunt DC but it looks to us that they did the right thing by choosing Gunn to be the man in charge as he has proved his and his team’s competence in these tough times for the entertainment industry.
Gunn’s DC Universe is on its way with DC Studios planning several more movies and TV shows that will build a fresh continuity for the previously known characters from the universe. While most of the projects that have been announced are live-action, animation will play a huge role too, as Creature Commandos is part of Chapter 1, “Gods and Monsters.” The show is set to hit HBO Max in 2024 and will follow the adventures of a group of military super humans composed by a human leader, a werewolf, a vampire, Frankenstein’s monster and a gorgon.
