Say No to hot and steamy hot scenes, because based on a recent survey we can see that sex on the big screen has increased up to 40% in Hollywood.
Although with the success of movies like “Poor Things” “Saltburn”, we can understand that showing bold scenes on screen is still widely accepted by the audience.
From 2000 to 2023, both the overall number of steamy on-screen scenes, actors being indulged into passionate scenes have decreased exponentially.
As time passes movie makers are putting less and less skin on skin scenes on camera, and the reason behind it is not that sex scenes are becoming less intense or dirty.
In 2019, half of the top grossing films had no sex scenes. But, with that being said, increase in violence, drug abuse has increased in movies and there murder and violence got an upper hand.
Number of reasons have popped up considering this trend, with the passing time the society has evolved in such a manner that change in depictions were a must have and, other than that Gen Z are not really interested in steamy sex scenes.
And on the other hand the amount of intimate scenes one can find online is so huge, that movie makers don’t have to invest their precious time and work in it.
