Whenever any big event capable of causing a change in the society, be it for good or bad, happens, one of our first thoughts is to wonder how history would see this. But in the age of new media and entertainment, we often get a glimpse of it sooner than we expect. There’s always a rush among filmmakers to get the rights to make movies about such huge events.
Oscar winning screenwriter Aaron Sorkin is working on a movie based on the January 6 Capitol Hill rising. This will come out as a ‘quasi sequel’ to his famous ‘The Social Network’. Aaron Sorkin revealed his plans while talking on a podcast where he also blamed Facebook for January 6.
The movie will deal with Facebook’s algorithm and how it has been used to create a divisive environment for creating engagements at the platform. Although he is working on the project, there are no studio partners yet for it.
Sorkin has put a very clear stance about the current political situation in the US and it won’t be a surprise if he shows just the same in the movie. He also stressed that this year’s election is that of an existential choice and the only options available are Trump vs not Trump.
