Marvel is back at it again at this year’s CinemaCon, with announcements and teasers for the fans. The Blockbuster Machine just released footage of the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World. Fans went crazy as the clip rolled, and we are here to talk about it all!
We are reintroduced to Thunderbolt Ross, this time as the president. Played by none other than Harrison Ford, who replaces William Hurt after the actor’s passing in 2022. We get to have a better look at Sam Wilson’s new costume as Captain America, sporting a lot more blue than the last suit. The movie has multiple undertones that allude to the politics of the United States, with the primary tension arising from the president reinstituting his own version of The Avengers. It seems to carry forward the idea of the legacy of the Shield and the questions that Sam faces about it, as we see Ross saying, “You do your job; you’re not Steve Rogers.”
The clip also features Isaiah Bradley. Another Super Soldier, but he seems to be under some influence. Very reminiscent of Captain America: Winter Soldier. Who’s controlling Bradley? What’s the intent behind Ross’ “new Avengers”? Will Sam be able to prove his worth against the legacy Steve left for him? All these questions and more will be answered by the movie. The project started off with the subtitle “New World Order,” which was changed during filming. The movie is set to release on February 14, 2025.
