Jeff Nichols upcoming drama ‘The Bikeriders’ has got a new release date following Focus Features buying its distribution rights.
The movie premiered at Telluride and would have hit the screens on 1 December but Disney took it off the release calendar due to the SGA-AFTRA strike.
It was then picked up by Focus Features, and it will be distributed globally by its parent company Universal pictures.
Written and directed by Nichols, The Bikeriders follow the story of a motorcycle club based in the midwest and its transformation from a place to gather to a gang.
Disney dropping this movie was shocking but nothing that one cannot expect from Disney. The Bikeriders has received good reviews from critic who watched it at Telluride. But, Disney has become that giant which focuses more on profit than quality. If one doubts it, take a look at MCU post-Endgame.
It has an ensemble cast that includes Jodie Comer, Austin Butler, Tom Hardy, Mike Faist and Michael Shannon.
The new release date is set for 21 June 2024.
