Up until now fans were in this dilemma whether they were getting a sequel for Uncharted or not, but now it seems that fans don’t have to wait anymore.
Sony Pictures executive Steven O’Dell confirmed the news during Sony’s presentation at the 2024 CineEurope trade show. He listed the sequel to the Tom Holland-starring Uncharted film adaptation as one of the studio’s upcoming projects, confirming that the movie is officially moving forward.
This franchise is based on the video game with the same name. This is basically a treasure hunt movie, which fundamentally lacks the sense of adventure that turned the Sony games into some of the most beloved of all time.
Now, the movie could not garner enough positive reaction because, being a very cinematic game, the game couldn’t stand on people’s expectations.
Some parts of the game are more cinematic than the movie itself.
The character of Nathan Drake is also poorly presented in the movie, although Tom Holland had everything one could have to play the role, she simply lacked the it factor. Drake needs to be the one with the sharpest instincts, someone who sees the puzzles of history from a place of expertise and courage.
Here Tom just looks like a kid dressing up as his favourite character.
Now that the second movie is confirmed a group of people are saying was it necessary to have the second movie?
Where the plot will take us is still uncertain, characters are also not talking much about it, but this time we can hope that it won’t look as bad as the first movie.
