With the premiere of “Road House,” Jake Gyllenhaal’s Nine Stories and Amazon MGM Studios have inked a three-year first-look feature partnership.
Gyllenhaal’s production firm will make first-look decisions on narrative movies as part of the contract, which will encompass theatrical and streaming releases.
Recently, Gyllenhaal starred in “Road House,” an Amazon Prime Video original film based on the classic Patrick Swayze film that has amassed over 50 million views globally.
Playwright David Cale’s “We’re Only Alive for a Short Amount of Time” was also presented by the group; Gyllenhaal produced “Sea Wall/A Life” and “Slave Play.” Marker departed in 2022.
Amazon MGM Studios and Oscar and Tony Award nominee Jake Gyllenhaal are working together to produce a new movie. The collaboration comes after “Road House,” a movie that made over $1 billion in revenue.
Having previously collaborated with Gyllenhaal on two other projects, Amazon MGM Studios is thrilled to work with him and the Nine Stories team to produce gripping pictures from creative directors.
It is anticipated that the collaboration will continue, particularly in light of “Road House’s” popularity. The dedication of Amazon MGM Studios to their craft is demonstrated by their dedication to filmmaking and to their global fan base
