John Cena, the WWE superstar and Hollywood actor, has starred in many action movies over the years. Some of them, like The Marine and Bumblebee, were well-received by critics and audiences alike. Others, like Playing with Fire and The Suicide Squad, were not so successful.
But none of them were as bad as his latest movie Freelance, which has received a rare 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Freelance is an action comedy directed by Pierre Morel, who also helmed the hit movie Taken.
Cena plays Mason Pettis, an ex-special forces operative who takes a job to provide security for a journalist (Alison Brie) as she interviews a dictator (Juan Pablo Raba) in a fictional country. When a military coup breaks out, the trio must escape through the jungle and survive each other.
The movie sounds like a fun and thrilling adventure, but according to the reviews, it is anything but. Critics have slammed the movie for its poor script, cheap CGI, unfunny jokes, and lack of chemistry between the stars.
