British singer and actor Harry Styles got a taste of the Marvel universe in the 2021 film “Eternals.” Promises were made that he would be part of a spinoff titled “Eros and Pip,” but Disney has now put it on pause. The studio is currently trying to reduce the amount of Marvel content, a move that could potentially be damaging.
According to a reputable media outlet, discussions took place among Marvel bosses regarding Harry potentially taking on a lead role. However, those talks seem to have cooled down as the entire Marvel franchise is being reconsidered, with a focus on creating projects that generate significant revenue.
While Harry’s character is well-liked and enjoyable, it may not be the top choice for revitalizing the Marvel franchise to its full potential.
Previously, Marvel producer Nate Moore promised a strong future between Harry and the studios, as they saw potential in the character. Additionally, Eros being the half-brother of Thanos surely adds to the character’s significance on the big screen.
Now, the studio claims that they didn’t cast Harry solely because of his fame, but also for his passion. However, this decision will likely bring some backlash among fans, as the Marvel situation isn’t the most stable right now; news like this might affect the image.
