The proof of this came in the form of Five Nights At Freddy’s getting renewed for a sequel. FNaF gained traction as a phenomenon when in 2022 Youtubers like PewDiePie found the Indie game and started making play along videos. The sheer popularity of the game led to Universal studios making a movie that was streamed on peacock.
Now that we’ll get to see Freddy Fazbear once again in all his animatronic glory, it is to be seen if it gets any love from the critics or not. The last movie, even though it was a fan favourite, received rather negative reviews from the critics. But we must recognise the movie’s immense success at the box office. Five nights at Freddy turned out to be Blumhouse productions biggest commercial success earning 293 million USD.
As the new movie starts filming, fans are preparing to witness this new brand of horror all over again. The movie is yet to have a release date. Five nights at Freddy’s stands out in a long lineup of game based movies which include Minecraft and Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
