The hype was immense but the rating, they don’t look too good for the ‘visionary’ director Zack Snyder as his latest Netflix project takes a massive hit. Though the fans looked excited for 21st December, to make it t their go-to Christmas movie, it might take a step back for the casual viewers.
Now, firstly, having a good critics review doesn’t ensure a box-office success, that is a fact. Even Snyder’s own Batman VS Superman is abominable in Rotten Tomatoes but in Box Office, it is DCEU’s one of the biggest hits.
But this time, the journey for the Rebel Moon is looking like a tough one, might even go through a Lunar Eclipse. Snyder always had the luxary to enjoy a very strong fanbase and he attempts to pay them back with love and good content.
The success of a franchise, though it depends on the hardcore fanbase to make it live, if the causal fans aren’t interested, it becaomes tough for the makers to let it run. And it is indeed prominent that the fans will review bomb it, will take the audiance score higher, this much difference will cause chaos, that’s sure.
Critics rating a Snyder movie badly isn’t a new thing as fans consider it as a ‘cycle’ or inhevitanle event but, it does leave a bad taste in the mouth especially for the studios that are attached with it.
Even on IMDb, though not considering it a great movie, it is sitting at a respectable 6.8 rating which will definitely go up as it will start streaming on Netflix from 21st December.
