Kendrick Lamar Goes All in For the Drake Beef

Kendrick Lamar

The biggest hip-hop beef of this decade is unfolding in front of us and Kendrick is not in the mood of pulling his punches. Who are the big three in the rap game right now? This is where the entire battle started. J. Cole and Drake in their song “First Person Shooter” mentioned Kendrick in the list of the “Big Three” along with them.

Implying these rap giants are at the top and on par with each other. Hip-hop might be a genre of music to most but Kendrick considers it not only as a form of art but also a sport. His competitive mindset has shaken the industry before as well when he was featured in the “Control” song by Big Sean where he stated that he is here for thrown and his contemporaries should take this as a warning.

The internet was set ablaze recently again when the song “Like That” dropped by Future, Metro Boomin, and Kendrick Lamar. He made it very clear in his verse that there is no “Big Three”. It’s one crown and one thrown that has “K. Dot” engraved upon it. This sparked one of the biggest hip-hop beefs to ever exist.

From J. Cole dropping a lackluster diss track and then apologizing for it to Kanye West joining the war against Drake out of nowhere, this beef has the spectacle that can only be compared to a big Marvel hit, where Drake represents the commercial side of hip-hop and Kendrick represents the culture.

Drake came up with a strong response through his song “Push Ups” and Kendrick replied with his song “Euphoria”. In terms of pure lyrical ability to obliterate the opponent, Kendrick has the upper hand.

But the real fire sparked when these two giants started going back and forth through multiple songs tearing apart each other. Kendrick dropped “6:16 in LA” and Drake fiercely came back with “Family Matters”. Within an hour of Drake dropping the song, Kendrick responded with “Meet the Grahams”, stirring up the controversy even further.

He dived into the personal life of Drake and his problems addressing them to his family and calling him a “sick man with sick thoughts”. The wounds go deep and Kendrick is unveiling the harsh dark realities of Drake in front of billions of people. Can Drake Toosie Slide out of this stinky situation? Only time will tell.
