No Jail to Jonathan Majors! Marvel Messed Up Though!

Jonathan Majors

In the latest turn of events, ex-Marvel star Jonathan Majors has dodged prison. Instead, he was sentenced to a 52-day domestic violence intervention program. Heads are now turning towards Marvel, who parted ways with Majors following the domestic abuse allegations against him in December 2023. Majors was portraying the main antagonist of the MCU’s Multiverse, the greatest threat yet: “Kang.”

Although the saying “innocent until proven guilty” exists, it is rarely practiced. Not to be the devil’s advocate on this one, but this appears to be a hasty decision by Marvel. The MCU has been a rollercoaster these days, with extreme fluctuations in the success of its projects. What MCU needs now is to deliver on the promises it made. Begs the question, though: Now that Majors is not convicted, “will Marvel take him back?”

It would be quite similar to the way Marvel treats Kang in its projects, where he is hyped up as the biggest villain only to be defeated by the end but still returns in the next one. How is one supposed to take Kang seriously when he has been reduced to cannon fodder? At the same time, if Majors doesn’t return, will he be recast? This wouldn’t be the first time a recast was done. But they were in the days of the MCU’s infancy. And those recasts were not supposed to be the face of a saga, unlike Kang.
