Oppenheimer has become the 3rd highest opening of Nolan, only after the two Batman movies, surpassing Interstellar and Dunkirk.
The movie pundits were predicting Oppenheimer to make around $40 million in the first week in the USA, taking into account the historical clash of the movie with Barbie, but the actual figures shocked everyone. The collection is even more impressive, considering the length of the movie being more than 3 hours. The film has made it quite high on the list of films, 160 minutes or longer, with the highest opening.
What happened this weekend is a great example of how Hollywood and the film industry can survive despite all odds. Oppenheimer did incredibly well in the Indian market as well. The movie made around ₹50 crore in the first week run with an overall occupancy of 56.66 per cent in English shows and 26.46 per cent in Hindi. The figure is significantly higher than any other movie running at the same time.
