Mickey 17, a new animated picture by acclaimed Korean director Bong Joon-ho, will be released and distributed in Korea and the US. The movie, which explores the interactions between humans and aquatic life, will be released in a manner akin to that of Snowpiercer, which was released by the Weinstein Company in North America and by CJ ENM in Korea.

While making the movie, the filmmaker intends to work back and forth between Korea and the United States. Joon-ho is also developing Mickey 17, a science fiction movie based on Edward Ashton’s 2022 novel, his first feature film since Parasite. Based on the 2022 book by Edward Ashton, Robert Pattinson plays a disposable employee who is dispatched on an ice planet colonization expedition.
