After sweeping away the Best Picture award at the 92nd Academy Awards along with Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best International Feature Film, Bong-Joon-Ho is collaborating with Robert Pattinson for his upcoming film. From directing a black comedy thriller like “Parasite”, to diving into the realm of sci-fi with his upcoming movie, “Mickey 17”, Bong-Joon-Ho is making unpredictable choices with a unique approach.

The director himself has described his film as a “simple man’s story”, though the plot dives into a loop of life and death. The protagonist is played by Robert Pattinson, a common man’s character with a nerdy American accent, named Mickey.

By signing up, to be an “expendable” in future, he gets the job of interstellar travel and handy work at space stations. But the catch is that he is expected to die several times while going through this and each death will create another clone of Mickey. So clearly there will be plenty of Robert Pattinson getting chopped up, and being eaten throughout space.

This in itself is enough to create a mind-bending sci-fi movie, but there’s more. The conflict arises when two clones are created at the same time “Mickey 17” and “Mickey 18”.
After doing a sci-fi film with Nolan and dawning the role of “Caped Crusader” in The Batman, surely this venture of Robert Pattinson with Bong-Joon-Ho will be full of surprises and intrigue.
