Street Fighter Coming Soon with Live Action

Street Fighter

Street Fighter is about the jump-on bandwagon of the gaming IPs getting their own movies. Legnedary and Sony have come together to make a Street Fighter movie. The Capcom-owned IP will have a live-action movie based on the mythos of the original game. The project was earlier in the hands of Danny and Michael Philippou. The duo stepped down as directors recently, following the announcement of the release date made by Legendary.

Street Figher remains one of the hottest fighting games from the third generation. The story often revolves around a number of martial arts-based characters competing in a world tournament to prove their strength. The IP gave birth to many of the fan favorites, like Ken and Ryu, who are joined by characters like Chun Li, Cami, and Guile.

This won’t be the first time, however, that a game from this genre will get a live-action adaptation, as just a couple of years ago, Mortal Kombat made a comeback to the screen in a live-action movie. Before, there was tekken. Since its inception in 1987, Street Fighter remains one of the most influential gaming series in the history of games with its latest installment. Street Fighter 6 was released just a year ago. The movie will release on March 20, 2026.
