As WB declared the release date of Barbie on April 27th, 2022, it seemed like it was up for a massive fight against ‘I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.’ However, with never-before-seen advertising and audience involvement, Barbie created a buzz like never before.
On the journey to make a name for itself, Barbie nailed the advertisement game. From real-life Barbie mansions to brand deals, they didn’t leave a loose screw. Even globally associating themselves with the color pink did wonders for them. A simple Google search will make you understand ‘rizz’ by Barbie.
So, in the midst of success song, why was there the melancholy of a 1 rating?
No, this isn’t a story of an underdog, as Barbie is going to fight Oppenheimer. It is just a magical internet glitch. Right now, it has been fixed and proudly displays a 7.7 IMDb rating.
And is there any possibility for it to be as low as 1?
In reality, you can bet your life that it won’t come close to that rating. A critically acclaimed film has failed in the market, just look at the case of Flash. But it’s Barbie we are talking about, and if they deliver what Gerwig promised, you are ready for a great ride.
