Title controversies aren’t new to Tollywood and recently we have already seen the controversy on the title ‘Lion’ for Balakrishna’s upcoming movie. One more title controversy is internally brewing up in Telugu Film Industry and interestingly the title controversy is not about the same title but two different titles with similarity.
It is a known thing that Ravi teja’s upcoming movie is titled ‘Bengal Tiger’ and this film’s title has got similarities with Sandeep Kishan’s next movie ‘Tiger’. Two are different titles but according to reports, ‘Bengal Tiger’ director Sampath Nandi feels that Sandeep Kishan’s title would create confusion among the audiences though Sandeep is no match for Ravi Teja in terms of stardom.
Seerat Kapoor, Director of ‘Tiger’ had registered the title and even Sampath Nandi got the title ‘Bengal Tiger’ registered. But it is learnt that Ravi teja and Sampath Nandi had approached Film Chamber to bring pressure on the makers of ‘Tiger’ to change their title and let there be no confusion for Ravi Teja’s film. The title ‘Bengal Tiger’ was actually registered for Pawan Kalyan. Though it is used for Ravi Teja at present, Pawan Kalyan had no problem. Then, how can one first party ask the second party to change their title which belongs to the latter lawfully?
