M9 News is doing a year-end recap for 2024, and we found only three movies that gained recognition through their genuine efforts, with no other external factors influencing their success.
The three films are 35 Chinna Katha Kaadu, Committee Kurrollu, and Pekamedalu. It does not mean these films were successful at the box office.

However, those who watched these movies in theaters are the reason behind the positive word-of-mouth, which contributed to their wider reach on OTT platforms.
These movies did not feature any star-driven hype or make any promotional gimmicks. They made an honest attempt, and the audiences rightly gave them the recognition they deserved.

Nivetha Thomas’ memorable performance, coupled with excellent writing, made 35 Chinna Katha Kaadu strike a chord with the target audience.
Committee Kurrollu perfectly captured the 90s nostalgia, and all the newcomers delivered fantastic performances throughout.

Pekamedalu attempts to tell a relatable story, which resonated with audiences who appreciate simple yet genuine narratives.
35 Chinna Katha Kaadu is directed by Nanda Kishore Emani and produced under the S Originals banner. Committee Kurrollu is directed by Yadhu Vamsi and produced by Pink Elephant Pictures and Shree Radha Damodar Studios. Pekamedalu is directed by Neelagiri Mamilla and produced by Crazy Ants Productions.
