Venkatesh-Trivikram’s Aadarsha Kutumbam AK 47 was expected to arrive on October 9 after missing its earlier October 2 release. However, the film has now been postponed indefinitely, raising fresh questions about the reasons behind the delay.
The postponement comes just days after producer Naga Vamsi confidently declared October 9 as the final release date. The makers had even planned the trailer launch and advance bookings around it. The sudden change has only added to the confusion.
The official explanation points to pending post-production work. However, industry buzz suggests the team wants to improve the final output. Reports claim Trivikram is not happy with certain portions, particularly the second-half family emotions and climax. There is also talk of additional patchwork and changes to key scenes and dialogues.
These claims remain unconfirmed.
Another interesting angle involves Hanuman Ansh, the Telugu-dubbed version of a Hindi blockbuster scheduled for an October 9 release. Industry discussions suggest Trivikram was interested in acquiring its Telugu theatrical rights, but the deal reportedly fell through over business differences. Rumours also suggest he may still have stakes in the Telugu version and wants to avoid a clash between his two films. However, there is no confirmation of these claims.
If October 30 becomes the final release date for AK 47, the team will get more time to complete post-production and could benefit from the Diwali holiday window. However, the film would face competition from Bollywood’s Rs. 4,000 crores Ramayana, which is also expected to have a wide release in Telugu, occupying a large number of screens and creating problems for AK 47.
Trivikram needs a strong comeback after Guntur Kaaram. Taking more time could be the right decision if the film genuinely needs improvement. But the team must now lock a release date, complete the work and promote the film properly.
The makers also need to restore audience confidence after repeated delays. Otherwise, the troubled release journey could overshadow the film itself, turning a project with massive potential into a colossal disappointment.
