Of late, there has been trash talk from a section of Tollywood followers who have been crying foul on Rajamouli. Their argument is that Rajamouli has brought the pan-Indian culture into Telugu cinema which has made star heroes spend several years on a single film instead of doing multiple commercial films in this period.
However, Rajamouli, being Rajamouli has destroyed this rash talk with a mighty rare accreditation as he has been invited to become a member of “The Academy”.
The Academy has formally invited Rajamouli and his wife Rama Rajamouli to become their reputed members, which is the kind of stuff that dreams are made of for Indian filmmakers, let alone Telugu filmmakers.
If this goes through, Rajamouli could become a member of the Academy and he could have a say in the voting patterns of the Oscar nominations.
While there is some minor hit job against Rajamouli domestically in the Telugu space for creating a new trend that made heroes get addicted to pan India hype, the master craftsman is getting it done in the global stage.
Rajamouli made a distant dream a possibility through Naatu Naatu which won the Oscars in the best original song category. He can amp up his image further once he becomes a member of the Academy.
