Adipurush Lost Golden Chance Due To Obligation

Prabhas AdipurushShah Rukh Khan’s pan-India film Jawan is red hot among the trade and the audience, especially after the phenomenal success of Pathaan. The film was expected to release on June 2. But due to some production delays, the film is all set to be postponed. An official confirmation is awaited.

Prabhas’ much-awaited devotional spectacle, Adipurush, is releasing on June 16. There were rumors that Adipurush will be preponed to June 2 as Jawan will get postponed in all probability. In that case, the film would have enjoyed a free run of 3-4 weeks. If the content of the film gets accepted, Adipurush would have made a killing at the box office and emerged as a huge grosser.

But an official statement was released yesterday by the Adipurush makers that they are sticking to the June 16 date. This decision was taken because the film will be screened at the prestigious Tribeca Festival in New York. The world premiere is slated on June 13. All arrangements have been made, and now the team can’t change the release date, no matter what, because of this obligation.

On June 16, Adipurush will face competition from the Hollywood biggie, The Flash. In India, it might matter slightly, but in the overseas market, Adipurush will be affected by this film due to screen issues.

Ajay Devgn’s sports drama Maidaan is releasing on June 23, and if Adipurush’s word-of-mouth isn’t that great, Maidaan will also dent its collections in the second weekend. And Jawan is targeting the June 28 date, which means Adipurush will not get much time to score at the box office.

A lot is at stake with Adipurush, and let’s hope the trailer of Adipurush works big time, which will be released on May 9.
