Titles speak a lot to create curiosity among fans. If it is a superstar’s film like Rajnikanth, title itself gives big publicity. That’s why fans expect the makers to select a title which goes with the stature of their superstar. Coming to his next film with director Ranjith, fans are waiting for a powerful title.
Hence the makers of the movie decided upon ‘Kannabiran’ for Rajni’s action movie. However the title is already registered by Tamil director Ameer a few years ago. That means Ranjith’s team need to ask Ameer for the title. And one would expect him to happily give away the title for the sake of the superstar.
Ameer already gave ‘Lingaa’ title when the makers of the movie asked him because he is a big fan of the Superstar. The present title in consideration ‘Kannabiran’ is the name of an eminent civil rights activist and lawyer. As of now, one doesn’t know whether the title has any connotations to the activist or not.
