Big Film Release Changes Affect Summer Holidays

Summer Holidays Delay

The upcoming film Summer Holidays is produced by Dheeraj Mogilineni under the Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainments banner. Following The Girlfriend, Couple Friendly and Chennai Love Story, the producer is bringing this nostalgic film to theatres on November 6. The film was postponed from October 30 to November 6 due to Aadarsha Kutumbam.

At the release date press meet, the producer said that the team had already spent its available budget on publicity and promotions. However, the change in the release schedule has forced the makers to arrange additional funds to continue promoting the film for another week. He also spoke about the difficulties faced by small-budget films and the financial pressure caused by last-minute release changes.

Highlighting the difference between big and small films when it comes to release planning, Dheeraj said, “Even if Venkatesh and Trivikram garu announce their film’s release date just four days in advance, they will get theatres and audiences. They have that luxury, but small films like ours don’t.”

Dheeraj further explained that the team had announced October 30 as the release date for Summer Holidays and had spent its entire available budget on publicity based on that plan. With the release now moved to November 6, the makers have to borrow money again to continue the promotional campaign for another week.

Referring to similar situations involving other films, he said, “The same thing happened with Aadarsha Kutumbam and Lenin. This keeps happening every time.” His remarks highlighted the financial strain that release-date changes can place on small-film producers, who often operate with limited budgets and cannot easily extend their marketing campaigns.

Dheeraj stressed the need for better communication between filmmakers, particularly when big and small films are planning their theatrical releases. “There is communication between big films, but there is no communication between big films and small films,” he said. The release of Summer Holidays has now been moved from October 30 to November 6.
