A new Friday is here on October 23, 2026, and thankfully, four new Hindi films are releasing in the theatres. The lineup starts with Udta Teer, followed by Tum Mere Ho, Pehla Pyaar Doosri Baar, and Tu Hai Meri Kiran. But the question right now is which one of them will work.
The box office is facing an unpredictable situation, with Jailer 2 surprisingly attracting Hindi audiences, and the turnout is better than the first time. Apart from this, the wave of Drishyam: The Conclusion also remains.
As of now, only Udta Teer has the potential to do something good at the box office. The teaser and trailer received positive reactions, specifically for the unique concept and the comedy. However, the songs and other material have not created enough buzz for the film.
Udta Teer now has to entirely depend on positive word-of-mouth if the makers are aiming for good collections. Despite getting a limited release, advance bookings at the national multiplex chains have not been so good, and it is expected to start at Rs. 2 crore or even less than that if walk-in audience numbers turn out to be very low.
The second film, Tum Mere Ho, features Gurmeet Choudhary and Isha Malviya in the lead roles. Although the duo has been popular on television, the number of shows and the buzz for the film prove that audiences are not interested in watching the new pair. Trade experts have pointed out that the lack of promotion is one of the biggest reasons behind the disinterest in the film.
The third film, Pehla Pyaar Doosri Baar, features six new faces being introduced by Luv Ranjan. Netizens appreciated the fact that Luv has tried to give new talent in the same way he did with Pyaar Ka Punchnama years ago. However, social media users also stated that he should have done it in a different manner.
Early predictions have stated that the movie will start at somewhere between Rs. 0.80 crore and Rs. 0.90 crore. This is undoubtedly a very low number for a Luv Ranjan film, and the rest will entirely depend on how audiences are going to accept the film.
The last in the lineup, Tu Hai Meri Kiran, featuring Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal, is arriving with hardly any awareness among the audience. Trade experts and distributors have already declared it a disaster, with some saying that even a small miracle cannot save this film from sinking at the box office.
Considering the situation at the box office this week, netizens questioned whether audiences are genuinely not interested in watching any of the four films or if they are saving some money for Ramayana, which arrives in two weeks.
A few social media users pointed out that Ramayana is already creating headlines and facing criticism for the ticket pricing, specifically at IMAX screens, where the starting price has been more than Rs. 1,000.
Netizens believe that there are people who are going to watch the film, even if they criticize the makers for the ticket prices. People also wrote that audiences might have already booked their tickets or are finalizing a particular day to watch the film, which is a reason why this week’s four films are expected to get ignored at the box office.
It is clear for now that the hype for Ramayana remains among the audience. But it will be interesting to see whether the magnum opus will create some big records throughout and by the end of its theatrical run.
