The pre-release event of ‘Agadha’ brought together several leading names from the Telugu film industry, who expressed confidence in M. S. Raju’s latest directorial venture. The guests praised the film’s unique concept, engaging screenplay, technical brilliance and performances, stating that it offers much more than a conventional horror experience.
Shyam Prasad Reddy, the producer of the landmark film ‘Arundhathi’, spoke warmly about his long association with M. S. Raju. He hailed Raju as a passionate filmmaker and a trendsetter who understands every aspect of cinema.
After watching the film, he said ‘Agadha’ could not be confined to the horror genre alone. He also appreciated the film’s visuals and editing, while praising Kamakshi Bhaskarla’s performance and recalling the first time he saw Anushka in ‘Arundhathi’.
M. S. Raju expressed his gratitude to producer Kasi Visalakshi Balusu, presenter Ajay KR and the entire cast and crew. He said he approached ‘Agadha’ with the energy of a “super over,” promising a film that delivers consistently rather than relying only on its climax. Raju remained confident that the film would achieve blockbuster success with divine blessings.
Sai Rajesh, who worked as an assistant director under M. S. Raju, recalled how he learned the craft of screenplay writing from him. After watching ‘Origin of Agadha’ and the trailer, he praised Raju as a “kingmaker” and wished the film a grand success.
SKN described M. S. Raju as a filmmaker whose identity remains unchanged whether he works as a producer or director. He said the promotional material clearly indicates that ‘Agadha’ contains several layers beyond horror. SKN also praised the lead actors and the producers for taking a bold step with the project.
Director B. Gopal recalled Raju’s sharp understanding of stories and his ability to recognise commercial potential. He remembered Raju confidently predicting the success of ‘Samarasimha Reddy’ and called him a brave producer with the instincts of a talented writer. B. Gopal further stated that ‘Agadha’ has the potential to become a bigger hit than ‘Devi’.
Lagadapati Sridhar said M. S. Raju and Shyam Prasad Reddy have always been among his favourite producers. He hoped that ‘Agadha’ would establish Raju once again as a successful director and go on to become a cult classic.
Anil Viswanath, who directed the ‘Polimera’ films, said he had followed ‘Agadha’ from the writing stage. After watching the final product, he described the climax as unexpected, intense and futuristic. He singled out Kamakshi Bhaskarla’s complete performance, along with the work of Shravan Reddy, Jovika Vijay Kumar, cinematography and Rakesh Venkatapuram’s music.
Kamakshi Bhaskarla thanked M. S. Raju for giving her the opportunity to play the female lead and the film’s central character. She said his trust had provided an important foundation for her career. Shravan Reddy also recalled that Raju had introduced him as a lead actor in ‘Dirty Hari’ after noticing his work in a web series and expressed happiness about collaborating with him again.
Producer Kasi Visalakshi Balusu said the teaser and trailer had received encouraging responses. She praised Raju’s commitment and tireless efforts throughout the production and expressed confidence that the film would connect strongly with audiences.
Backed by enthusiastic reactions from the industry, ‘Agadha’ is arriving in theatres on August 14 with expectations of delivering a distinctive supernatural drama. The film combines horror, divine forces, the battle between good and evil, intricate writing and a visually rich theatrical presentation.
