Aish naive to regressive dark-skinned slave boy poster!

aishwarya-rai-bachchan child labour controversyIt has immensely pained the fans of former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachan, the Child Rights Activists and the commoners as well to see Aishwarya Rai Bachan in a regressive poster promoting slavery in a Kalyan Jewellers Ad poster published in popular daily The Hindu. Aish’s team responded on the open letter written to Aish by a group of activists who were pained by the depiction of slavery by the diva.

By the response given by Aish’s team it can be clearly understood that Aish was naive to the final output of the poster. While the ad poster published in the daily had a black-skinned child holding an over-sized umbrella over Aish in her dazzling auristocratic avatar in a reclining position, the original photo shot during the photo session shows only Aish reclining herself on a parosal.

So it can be understood that, the final product was the work of the creative team of the jewellery brand. Like for films, don’t stars check on the final product that goes into the market which is going to be viewed by millions? Even to a commoner, using a small boy carrying an over-sized umbrella seems very mean.
