Being a star kid can make a film debut easier, but building a career is a different story. Several youngsters from film families have entered Telugu cinema with good launches, yet only a few have managed to stay in the race. Medha Meka, daughter of Srikanth and Ooha, is the latest to take this step, with Mythri Movie Makers backing her debut.
Medha already has an advantage that many newcomers lack. Her parents are familiar faces in Telugu cinema, and the production banner behind her film can help bring attention. However, all these can only bring initial curiosity. None of this guarantees that audiences will accept her as a heroine. Once the initial curiosity fades, she will have to win them over with her own performance.
Tollywood has seen many star kids get promising launches, but later they struggled to find the right films. Some take time to settle down, while others fail to build momentum beyond their first few outings. Medha will have to avoid falling into that cycle.
Her debut will bring her into the spotlight, but what follows will matter just as much. Can she step out of her parents’ shadow and find a place of her own? That is the real challenge awaiting her.
