Akhanda 2 has faced several external hurdles in recent times. From a last minute postponement to court orders stopping premieres and ticket price hikes, the film had a difficult start. But there is finally some positive news for the Balakrishna starrer at the Telangana High Court.
Yesterday, a single bench division of the Telangana High Court ruled against paid premieres and hiked ticket prices. This removed the advantage of higher rates, including Rs 100 at multiplexes and Rs 75 at single screens that were permitted earlier by the government.
However, the makers challenged the verdict before the division bench today. They received partial relief as the division bench has stayed the earlier order until December 14. This offers the team some breathing space.
With the earlier order now paused, Akhanda 2 can follow the permitted elevated ticket prices in Telangana. This is an important and timely boost, as the higher rates can help the film generate stronger revenues.
