The other day at Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo Success Meet, Star Producer Allu Aravind went on to say that the Film Chamber and Producer’s council are contemplating to request the governments of Telugu states to allow Flexi-pricing in multiplexes.
However, this announcement has evoked mixed reactions. Even though the Flexi-Pricing may benefit small films to an extent, it will give a free hand to star films to fleece the audience of their money, most people feel. They say that this step may push the audience towards piracy.
However, some people say that the noon shows of the weekdays may come down making the tickets affordable. But these shows are of less demand and are unlikely to make an impact. Cities like Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Chennai have this Flexi-Pricing.
Going by the experiences there, that has only made watching movies costly. So, the audience is hesitant about this model in the Telugu States. Further explanation of the industry plans may give us an idea.
