The Election Commission has announced the schedule for the coming electoral roll across the nation. The discussion now is about the election schedule pertaining to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
According to the press briefing by the EC, the polling is to be held for Andhra Pradesh assembly & Lok Sabha seats and the Lok Sabha seats in Telangana on the 13th of May and the counting is on the 4th of June. Incidentally, this could come as a blow to Prabhas.
Notably, Prabhas and Nag Aswhin’s Kalki is announced for release on the 9th of May. Though the chances of making it on time are low, the makers haven’t announced the postponement plan yet so we might consider May 9 as the release date for the film.
In case Kalki sticks to 9th May, then its box office prospects will take a huge blow as the AP and Telangana polling is to be held on the 13th of May. The election fever will be at its very peak in the Telugu states and it will certainly eat into the box office prospects of Kalki.
If the delay in production isn’t a convincing enough reason for the postponement of Kalki, this new election schedule announced by the EC should certainly prompt a postponement of Kalki’s release, we must say.
