As expected, Anil Ravipudi has officially launched his multistarrer featuring Venkatesh, Kalyan Ram, Keerthy Suresh, and Krithi Shetty. The film began with a formal pooja ceremony, and regular shooting is expected to commence shortly. The makers are targeting a Sankranti 2027 release and are reportedly planning to complete the entire shoot by November.
On paper, the project looks like another festive entertainer tailor-made for Anil Ravipudi’s strengths. But this film could become a crucial turning point for several people associated with it.
At the moment, Anil Ravipudi is operating from a position of strength. Sankranthiki Vasthunnam with Venkatesh turned out to be a massive blockbuster, while his recent outing with Chiranjeevi also performed very well. The director has built a reputation for delivering crowd-pleasing entertainers, particularly during the Sankranti season.
Venkatesh too enters the project without much pressure. His market remains stable, family audiences continue to support him, and he has already proved with Sankranthiki Vasthunnam that he can still deliver big theatrical successes.
The real pressure, however, is on the rest of the cast.
Kalyan Ram has been searching for a big success ever since Bimbisara, which was one of his biggest hits. His recent releases failed to make the desired impact at the box office.
Interestingly, it was Kalyan Ram who introduced Anil Ravipudi as a director through Pataas. Many in the industry feel Anil would love to repay that faith by delivering another strong success for the actor.
The film is equally important for Keerthy Suresh.
Despite being one of the most talented actresses in South Indian cinema and having won a National Award, Keerthy has not enjoyed a big commercial blockbuster in recent years. Even her stint in Bollywood with Baby John backfired badly. A successful film with Venkatesh and Anil Ravipudi could change that.
Krithi Shetty perhaps needs the success even more.
After becoming an overnight sensation with Uppena, the actress was seen as one of the industry’s most promising young stars. However, a series of terrible films affected her momentum considerably. This project gives her an opportunity to return to the spotlight in a big way.
And they all believe Anil Ravipudi will give them the success they are waiting for.
Anil’s track record shows that he understands festive entertainment better than most directors currently working in Telugu cinema. He knows how to package stars, create family-friendly comedy, and deliver films that appeal to a wide audience.
If the content works, Kalyan Ram can revive his momentum, Keerthy Suresh can finally get the commercial blockbuster she has been waiting for, and Krithi Shetty can put her struggling phase behind her.
Anil Ravipudi will also want to answer some of his detractors, who are waiting to see him fall, with another big blockbuster.
