
The much-anticipated prequel Kantara: Chapter 1, starring and directed by Rishab Shetty, has recently been overshadowed by a series of tragic events.
The film gained nationwide attention following the success of the original Kantara and the KGF series. However, its journey has been disrupted by back-to-back misfortunes.

In a heartbreaking incident, actor Rakesh Poojary passed away due to a heart attack on Sunday. He was best known for winning Comedy Kiladigalu Season 3.
The incident occurred during a mehendi ceremony in Nitte, near Udupi. Poojary had recently completed his portions for Kantara: Chapter 1 and was attending the event as a guest. Despite receiving immediate medical attention, he was declared dead at the hospital.

This marks the second death linked to the film in just a few days. Earlier, a junior artist involved in the project drowned while swimming in a river during a break.
Although neither incident happened on set, the timing of the tragedies has cast a shadow over the production.

These events have left fans and industry members in shock. They have also raised concerns about the physical and emotional stress related to film shoots.
While the production team is not at fault, the attention has shifted from the film’s creative work to the surrounding grief.
