The talk around a Vijay Deverakonda and Sandeep Reddy Vanga reunion has picked up after Vijay’s social media post about meeting everyone again in theatres next year. It led to speculation that the Arjun Reddy combination was planning another film.
But that’s not happening right now.
Vijay and Sandeep are actually planning to bring back Arjun Reddy in an extended version for the film’s 10th anniversary in 2027. Sandeep has confirmed that work is being planned on the new version, with Vijay expected to dub for the additional material.
This means Vijay’s post was about Arjun Reddy returning to theatres, rather than announcing a new film with Sandeep.
The 2017 film remains a major turning point for both. It gave Vijay a huge boost among the youth and established Sandeep Reddy Vanga as a director with a distinct style. Even after nine years, the film continues to have a strong following.
What exactly will be added to the extended version has not been revealed yet. Sandeep is expected to spend around 15 to 20 days working on it, while Vijay’s dubbing work could take only a few days.
So, the Arjun Reddy duo is coming back, but not with a new story. They are returning to the film that changed both their careers.
