The buzz surrounding Coolie, Rajinikanth’s upcoming action entertainer directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is reaching new peaks — especially in the Telugu states.
In a massive pre-release deal, the Telugu theatrical rights have been acquired by Asian Suresh Entertainment for a record-breaking Rs. 50 crores.

According to reports, this makes it the second-biggest deal ever for a dubbed film in Tollywood, only behind 2.0.
The deal reflects enormous confidence in the film’s box office potential. Several top distribution houses were reportedly in the race, but Asian Suresh Entertainment ultimately clinched it.

However, this is a huge risk, as Coolie now has to perform on par with blockbuster Jailer just to become a hit in Telugu.
The film is also setting benchmarks overseas. Coolie’s international distribution rights have been sold for an unprecedented Rs. 85 crores, making it the highest overseas deal for any Tamil film to date.

Even before its release, the film has already emerged as a box office juggernaut for the makers.
Despite its August 14 release clashing with War 2, starring Jr NTR and Hrithik Roshan, Coolie seems to be winning the early momentum.
High-octane teasers, sleek first-look posters, a viral first single, and a star-studded cast and crew have only added to the hype.
With the Telugu rights now sealed, aggressive promotions are expected across the Telugu states soon.
