A few days ago, Mythri Sasi met M9 News Journalist at an event. When asked about Pushpa 2 release plans, he said, “We are up against Big people. Things will not be easy even for a crazy project like Pushpa 2. You will be here and I will be here as well. We will see what happens then”.
But it looks like we do not have to wait until then. The war had begun already.
Mythri always claimed that the theaters under Dil Raju, Asian Suniel, and others are charging higher rates for their films.
Now a similar issue sprung.
Asian Group is running their Renovated Single Screens & Complexes on a Percentage-sharing basis.
Mythri wants a Rental system for these theaters so that they will get a larger chunk. They are trying to rein in Asian Group by saying that they will not screen their films in these theaters until the new rental terms are agreed.
Asian Group says they have renovated these theaters by spending a bomb and the rental system will not work out for them.
As of now, Kanguva is not given to these screens. Asian Group to put pressure is refusing to screen the film in all their Multiplexes including the Popular AAA Cinemas and AMB Cinemas. These are Popular Multiplexes and if the film is not screened there, Mythri will lose significant collection.
So, Suniel is also up to the challenge.
Interestingly, Mythri has no problem with this Percentage system for Kanguva. But they want to solve the issue now itself so that everything will be sorted by the time of Pushpa 2 release.
Observers say this is only a precursor for a bigger fight that is to come for Pushpa 2.
