The second instalment from the blockbuster Avatar franchise, The Way Of Water is set for theatrical debut in India on the 16th of December. This is one of the most anticipated films of the year in India and box office analysts estimate that it could well stand as the highest grossing non-Indian film in India, beating Avengers: End Game.
Coming to the point, film lovers in Hyderabad, and particularly those who are madly in awe of Avatar have a disappointing news.
Hyderabad does not have a single IMAX theater. The IMAX theaters offer the best possible movie watching experience and film lovers in Hyderabad will be missing the same as Avatar 2 gears up for theatrical release here.
Other cities like Bengaluru (6 IMAX screens), Mumbai (6), Delhi(4), Chennai(2) have IMAX projection facilities but Hyderabad doesn’t have one.
Avatar’s elite league VFX and visual presentation are best enjoyed in an IMAX projection facility. Strangely enough, being a metro city, Hyderabad doesn’t have a single IMAX screen.
It is heard that IMAX plans to set up a projection facility in Hyderabad but it will take at least year for the same.
